Our Cultural Activation Seed Grants Program is now open and will make funding available to successful eligible applicants including individual artists, arts and cultural groups or arts organisations (for profit or not for profit) proposing projects or programs that will increase access and community participation in arts, culture, and creativity within Camden. 

Camden Council recognises the value of Camden’s creative community and its role in shaping a unique cultural identity and engaging community with participation in the arts. Through a vibrant cultural community, we support improved social connection, wellbeing and liveability, access to diverse high-quality entertainment and cultural experiences in creative and community spaces and the public domain in Camden LGA and create local employment for the creative industries.

Available Categories

Creation of New Work, supporting the professional development of individual artists, art and cultural groups or arts organisations (for profit or not for profit) through investment in the creation of new work. 

Exhibition of Original Art Work, funding the hire of an accessible facility within Camden LGA suitable for the exhibition, publication, presentation of new work.

Creative Programming, supporting opportunities for local emerging or established artists, or creatives to develop, establish and deliver new and innovative arts or cultural programs/workshops within the Camden LGA.

To be eligible for funding, an applicant must be an individual artist, arts group, or organisation (for profit or not for profit) residing or practicing within the Camden Local Government Area:

  • Be aged 16 years and over and be an Australia Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Applications from persons aged 16 and 18 years are required to evidence parent or guardian support
  • Applicants must not be receiving alternate funding through Council for this specific project/program, or have outstanding debts with Council
  • Must not have been funded previously for the program or activity
  • Must commit to deliver the proposed project prior to 31 December 2023 within the Camden LGA
  • For profit organisations must make a financial contribution to their project equivalent to 50% of the project value
  • All applicants must be registered as part of Camden Council's Creative Camden Directory https://bit.ly/creativecamdendirectory
  • Applicants applying for new work or creative programming must provide evidence of capacity and samples of creative practice to support their application
  • Applicants funded previously for creation of new work can apply for a grant to exhibit or showcase the work only if the previous grant is acquitted.
