2022 grand champion

Local green thumbs are busy putting the finishing touches on their masterpieces, with entries for the Camden Garden Competition opening today.

The annual competition sees Camden’s most beautiful gardens crowned victorious across eight categories.

Judging will take place in spring, with a series of professional photographs taken to assist with bragging rights. Winners in each category, plus a Grand Champion, will be announced online and at a ceremony to be held at the Camden Council Administration Building in early November.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said she was excited to see what locals had done with their gardens this year.

“When people take the time to craft beautiful gardens, it gives us all a sense of pride in the beauty of the Camden area,” she said. “I absolutely love seeing the beautiful displays that our residents submit, and I know that it was a lot of hard work that got them there.”

The competition categories are:

  • Senior Citizen Garden;
  • Small Residential;
  • Large Residential;
  • Veggie Garden / Plot;
  • Best Floral Display;
  • School / Class Plot;
  • Most Sustainable Garden; and
  • Commercial Garden.

Entries close on 2 October. To enter, visit bit.ly/camdengardencomp.
