Boredom will not be an issue for local students in the coming weeks, with Camden Libraries offering an exciting online School Holiday Program.

Camden Libraries has put together a range of activities for children of all ages to enjoy while at home these school holidays, including:

  • Online Smart Phone Photography workshops;
  • Lotus Box Origami video;
  • Bounteous Birds Nest video;
  • Pokemon drawing workshop;
  • Monsters and Zombie drawing workshop;
  • Tic Tac Toes Bugs! video; and,
  • Penguin Origami video.

Professional photographer and Photo Workshop Australia’s Scott McGale said the online smart phone photography workshops would give attendees the right tips to the perfect photo.

“You really can get a professional looking image from your smartphone or iPad, but there are some lighting tips you need to know to make your picture the best before processing,” Mr McGale said.

“I want the students to start thinking about the process of creating an image, and I will be speaking to them about how to imagine a picture in your mind, then go out and make it happen. Just because the only camera you have is a smartphone, it does not mean that you cannot create great images.

“I will be showing them some of the fabulous images I have created and telling them that they can do it too with practice.”

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said the school holiday program was one of the most exciting in recent years.

“Camden Libraries are constantly working towards offering their members and guests the best educational and entertaining materials all year round, and this program is no exception.

“Smart phones are used for so many things, so the online photography workshop is a fantastic idea, as are the other offers available.

“I encourage parents to sign their kids up to one of the upcoming sessions and look forward to hearing all about them.”
