It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee – at Council’s Café Connect of course!

Café Connect, which begins again for the new year in just a few days, is a one stop shop that provides information on health, social and service provision in a variety of formats, including one-on-one conversations with connector services, access information from technology, large print and easy read resources.

Made specifically for local seniors, aged 55 years and over, each café session includes an activity to participate in. Attendees can choose to participate in the activities and then attend the café or simply come along, meet new people and have a chat with services. All cafés and activities are free and will run within set times.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli said Café Connect sessions are held in various locations right across the Camden area.

“From Mount Annan to Camden, Narellan to Gregory Hills, Emerald Hills to Spring Farm and Oran Park – you’ll be able to find one near you,” Cr Fedeli said.

“And what a robust program we have for 2023. If you’re interested in keeping fit, perhaps you’ll like the sound of the gentle yoga and mindful movement sessions. Or if you fancy yourself a budding chef, why not check out the affordable and healthy cooking workshops? If you’ve got a green thumb, or maybe you’re working on making that thumb a little greener, the vegetable gardening workshops might be great for you.

“The list doesn’t end there – whether it’s technology, art, trivia, physical activity and even pampering, there will be something for you. The sessions run right up until December, so there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in something that interests you.”

Café Connect is an initiative of Council’s Active Ageing Strategy 2016-2026 and it aims to deliver innovative ideas and approaches that foster liveable communities for older people.
