More than 300 local students were recognised for their outstanding 2019 High School Certificate (HSC) results at Camden Council’s special civic reception last night (Monday 17 February).

The students were awarded in front of their parents and families with a special certificate and gift at the HSC High Achievers Reception.

Macarthur Anglican College student, Isabelle Borg, received an ATAR of 86.5 and said she was proud to see her hard work come to fruition.

“I’m excited that my mark allowed me to be accepted into a Bachelor of Construction and Project Management at the University of Technology in Sydney,” she said.

“Overall I am happy with my mark and now I can hopefully get into an industry and give a female’s perspective.

“I also very much appreciate being invited to the HSC High Achievers Reception. It was very humbling to be included in the group.”

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was fantastic to see so many students receive a band five or six in one or more subjects.

“It shows great discipline, dedication and commitment to finish your school years with outstanding results – all characteristics that will serve the students well for years to come in their lives,” Cr Fedeli said.

“We all know how difficult it is to study for exams and the pressure we put on ourselves, so I commend the students on their efforts.

“The students, along with their families, should be extremely proud of all their achievements and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours. They have a very bright future ahead of them.”

Council provides students with a number of resources to assist with their study including:

  • Study spaces at all three libraries;
  • Lectures and seminars;
  • Study guides;
  • Past papers and major work examples; and
  • Free tutoring sessions.

  • Elderslie High School;
  • Elizabeth Macarthur High School;
  • Macarthur Anglican School;
