Camden Council Library Services restrictions eased as Civic Centre re-opens

Camden Council will re-open Camden Civic Centre and the Bicentennial Equestrian Park with a number of limitations in place, as well as easing restrictions at its libraries next week.

The following measures in place from Monday 29 June at Oran Park, Narellan and Camden Libraries:

  • Maximum 40 people allowed in Oran Park and Narellan libraries and maximum 20 people allowed in Camden Library at any one time;
  • 2-hour visit limit;
  • Sign in and out required;
  • Single entry and exit points;
  • Closure of meeting rooms (study rooms to have one chair only);
  • Social distancing measures introduced for computer bays;
  • Extra study space set aside for students at Oran Park Library; and
  • No cash transactions.

In addition, Perspex safety screens have been installed at customer counters. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and training have been provided to Library staff. Antiseptic wipes and hand sanitiser will be available at each location and increased cleaning schedules have been introduced.

Opening hours
Oran Park Library:
• Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 9.30am-5pm;
• Tuesday and Thursday - 9.30am-6pm; and
• Saturday 9am-noon.

Narellan Library:
• Monday, Wednesday 9.30am-6pm;
• Tuesday, Thursday and Friday - 9.30am-5pm; and
• Saturday - 9am-noon.

Camden Library:
• Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 9.30am-5pm;
• Tuesday and Thursday - 9.30am-6pm; and
• Saturday 9am-noon.

Extra study space will be set aside at Oran Park Library’s Lakeside Rooms to allow for more area for students to study.

Camden Civic Centre will re-open as of Wednesday 1 July as a function centre with restrictions on the maximum number of users for each of the individual spaces.

A range of COVID safe measures will be in place for all events including:

  • Additional cleaning;
  • Recording contact details of users;
  • Changes to food preparation in line with COVID requirements;
  • No buffet option– individual portions and table service only; and
  • Large events and functions considered on a case by case basis – must comply with a risk assessment and complete a declaration regarding the COVID measures in place.

The Camden Bicentennial Equestrian Park will be available for use by equestrian groups only from Wednesday 1 July with the following measures in place:

  • User groups to be responsible for capturing data of attendees and managing sanitisation and sterilisation of equipment and areas if in use; and
