Camden’s ducks will continue quacking, with new signs installed to ensure their safety.

Spring Farm residents requested Council install the signs near Burrell Road Riverside Park this week, with a safety message to remind those who drive around the area to drive safely and slow down in areas where there are animals.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the sign will be of great benefit to the Spring Farm area.

“It is important that we focus on protecting our wildlife and ensuring that everyone is able to play their part in doing so,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Our animals don’t know how dangerous vehicles can be, so we must be proactive in making sure they can live safely in their homes, just as we do as humans.

“It is great to hear that the sign was requested by the Spring Farm residents. It really shows our sense of community and awareness for our surroundings.”

Ducks are just one type of local wildlife that call Camden home and may be impacted on our roads. Others include:

  • Wombats;
  • Wallabies and kangaroos: and
  • Turtles.
