The Camden Summer Challenge 2026 is a Camden LGA community challenge where sun safety meets summer prizes. Film yourself completing the Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide steps as quickly and correctly as possible, share your video on Facebook or Instagram, and you could win big.
Post your unedited, timed video, tag Camden Council's Facebook or Instagram accounts, and aim for the fastest valid time. With prizes including a Raging Waters Family Pass and a SUNNYLiFE Cabana, it’s the perfect excuse to stay sun safe this summer. Open to Camden LGA residents. The challenge is based on Cancer Council’s Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek and Slide sun protection advice, which encourages people to:

Slip on sun-protective clothing that covers as much skin as possible

Slop on SPF30 or higher broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen and reapply it thoroughly

Slap on a broad-brimmed, bucket or legionnaire hat to protect the face, neck and ears

Seek shade, particularly when UV levels are high

Slide on sunglasses that meet Australian Standards to protect your eyes

Competition closes Saturday 31 January!
The competition is open to: Residents of the Camden Local Government Area, or Students who attend school within the Camden Local Government Area The competition is open to all ages. Submissions must be completed by individuals 16 years and older, Entries must be submitted via Facebook or Instagram only. Entries sent by email, direct message or in person will not be accepted. The competition opens at 9:30am on Friday 2 January 2026 and closes at 3:00pm on Saturday 31 January 2026. Entries submitted outside these times will not be accepted. No. Videos must be continuous, unedited and uninterrupted. Edited, sped-up or manipulated videos will be deemed invalid. Your video must clearly show your full completion time using a visible stopwatch or timing device from start to finish. Yes, but it is your responsibility to ensure your post is visible and accessible to Council for the duration of the competition. Yes. Winners are determined by the fastest valid completion times, as assessed by Council. Winners will be contacted by direct message on the social media platform used to submit their entry within five business days of the competition closing. If a winner cannot be contacted by 12pm on Friday 6 February 2026, the prize may be forfeited and an alternative winner selected. To enter, you must: Record an unedited video of yourself completing the Slip, Slop, Slap, Seek, Slide steps in order Clearly show a visible stopwatch or timing device throughout the entire video Post the video to Facebook or Instagram Tag Camden Council’s official Facebook or Instagram account in your post Full entry requirements are outlined in the Terms and Conditions. There is no limit to the number of entries. You may submit multiple entries to try and improve your time. Sunscreen must be clearly and thoroughly reapplied to all uncovered skin during the “Slop” step. Council will assess whether sunscreen application has been demonstrated in a sufficient and appropriate way. Yes. Safety is a key focus of the Camden Summer Challenge, and participants must complete the challenge in a safe, responsible and sun-smart manner. The challenge should not be attempted in extreme heat, dangerous weather conditions or high-risk environments. Council does not encourage unsafe or reckless behaviour, and participants take part at their own discretion. Sun safety is about protection — not rushing or putting yourself at risk. No. Entry is free, and no purchase or payment is required. You must demonstrate seeking and using natural or built shade, like under trees, umbrellas, or pergolas. If the participant is under 16 years of age, a parent or legal guardian must submit the entry on their behalf using their own social media account and consent to the child’s participation. The Camden Summer Challenge is a fun, skill-based competition that encourages sun safety.
