Council recently renewed the playspace at Kirkham Park to provide a modern, safe and engaging play space for the local community.

The works involved the removal of the existing playspace (adjacent to the cricket nets) and the construction of a new playspace located adjacent to the former BMX amenities building.

The upgraded playspace was open to the community in May 2026 and includes:

• Combination play unit;
• Double swing set;
• Bike-themed springer;
• Rubber soft-fall surfacing in high-wear areas to improve accessibility;
• Seating area and picnic setting; and
• Landscaping and new plantings.
