Mayor's Christmas Card Competition

Entries for the 2019 Mayor's Christmas Card Competition are now open.

Once again, the Mayor of Camden will hold the annual Christmas card competition which is open to year 5 and 6 students from the Camden Local Government Area. 

This year we are excited to announce that there are TWO Christmas Card categories. Students can choose to enter a card in the hand-drawn category, or have the option to submit a digital Christmas Card.

More information 

Please note that parent/guardian permission forms must accompany your entry to enable the winner to participate in the lighting of the community Christmas tree and publish the winning artwork. To download a copy click here. 

The Mayor will judge all entries and there will be two successful entries selected, one hand-drawn and one digital. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner will be notified prior to Friday 22 November 2019. 

All entries become the property of Camden Council. Personal information on entry forms will not be used for any other purposes than those associated with the winning competition entry and will not be disclosed.

The name and photograph of the winning entrant may be published in the local newspaper, Council’s Lets Connect newsletter and Council’s website, Council’s Facebook page and the Camden Jacaranda Festival website www.camdenjacarandafestival.org.

The winning entrants will be invited to be on stage with the Mayor for the lighting of the Camden Community Christmas Tree at Camden Jacaranda Festival on Saturday 23 November 2019 at approximately 7.45pm.

A copy of the winning entry will be reproduced and enlarged for viewing on the night.

Entries close COB Wednesday 13 November 2019. 

 


 

Entry Terms & Conditions 

  1.  Entries are to reflect "Christmas through your eyes".
  2. Entries are to be A4 sized.
  3. Entries can be either portrait or landscape on standard paper.
  4. Entries in the hand drawn category can be in any medium such as paint, pencil, watercolour or crayon.
  5. Entries in the digital category must be designed digitally and submitted via Camden Council's website.
  6. Entries are open to Year 5 and Year 6 students who live in the Camden Local Government Area.
  7. Students name and school must be displayed on the back of entry.
  8. You are not required to make the card, just submit your artwork. 

 

Enter for your chance to win

  • The winning entrant will receive prize money to the value of $100.
  • The winning entrant and school will each receive a $50 book voucher.
  • The winning hand-drawn entrant will have their design used as Mayor of Camden's Christmas Card for 2019.
  • The winning digital entrant will have their design used as the Mayor's e-Christmas card for 2019.
  • The winning entrants and their school will receive a framed professional copy of the winning card which includes their name, year and school printed on the card.
  • The winning entrants will receive 50 copies of the card for personal use.
