Local Government Week
Each year, NSW councils celebrate Local Government Week.
Local Government Week provides the perfect opportunity to promote the importance of councils in the local community.
In 2020, Local Government Week will take place between Monday 3 August and Sunday 9 August.
Further information on the activities that will take place throughout the week will be released at a later date.
In 2019, the annual Year 6 Mayor for a Day public speaking competition was held on Friday 4 August where representatives from primary schools in the LGA shared with the judging panel what they would do if they were Mayor for a day.
James Ford from Spring Farm Public School was awarded 'Mayor' and the winner of the competition with Milly Wallace from Mt Annan Christian College awarded 'Deputy Mayor.' All of the students who took part in the day spoke clearly and presented many great ideas and initiatives.
Thank you to the Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli and Camden's 2019 Young Citizen of the Year, Joanna Kolevris for being the events judges.
Council also provided a series of fun facts and stats on the Council's Facebook page during Local Government Week to showcase and highlight what we do for community.
