Garden competition

Each year Camden Council holds its annual Garden Competition.

The categories include:

  • Senior Citizen Garden
    This category is open to any size garden maintained by residents who are over 60 years of age.
  • Best Front Yard
    Highlighting the hard work of all gardeners who have a beautiful front yard of any size.
  • Best Back Yard
    Highlighting the hard work of all gardeners who have a beautiful rear yard of any size.
  • Veggie Garden/Plot
    Do you love to eat what you grow? This category is open to residents who have an edible garden or plot of fruit, vegetables and/or herbs.
  • School/Class Plot
    Open to local Pre-school, Primary and High Schools - Garden or plot maintained by school children.
  • Professional Garden
    For gardens that are professionally maintained.
  • Most Creative Garden
    Residential garden displaying creative use of plants with consideration for colour, shapes, textures, materials etc, garden features
  • New Garden
    No size restriction in this category, however the entire garden must have been established less than three years.
  • Most Sustainable Garden
    Residential garden demonstrating sustainability principles such as water saving, reuse of materials, natural pest control, herb and vegetable growing.
  • Best Floral Display
    A showcase of colours and vibrancy.
