Camden Council is proud to reveal our newest designed waste truck with the all-important messaging on how we can all help stop the spread of COVID-19.

As restrictions are eased across the state, NSW Health continues to urge residents to stay safe in the community by:

  • Getting tested if you have a cough, sore/scratchy throat, fever, runny nose, loss of smell or loss of taste;
  • Self-isolate after a test, until you receive a negative result;
  • Cover your nose and mouth when you sneeze or cough;
  • Avoid physical contact;
  • Maintain social distance;
  • Wash your hands or sanitize regularly; and
  • Stay home if sick.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the latest designed Council waste truck acts as a timely reminder for residents to stay safe.

“It is now mostly important to spread the word in how to take precautions rather than spreading the virus,” Cr Fedeli said.

“As we slowly return to work and spend more time with our families and friends, we cannot forget about keeping each other safe and following the advice from medical experts.

“Residents will see our newly wrapped COVID-19 branded waste truck throughout the area and I hope it acts as a gentle hint to help stop the spread. Together we can beat COVID-19.”

Council has also re-opened its Oran Park Administration Building with a number of conditions in place to keep the community and staff safe, including:

  • A maximum of 16 people in the Customer Service Hub;
  • Customers must sign in upon entry;
  • Separate entry and exit doors;
  • Plexi-guard screens installed;
  • Hand sanitiser and wipes available for customers and staff;
  • On-site cleaning undertaken throughout the day;
  • Maintain social distancing with signage in place; and
  • Customer Service Hub to be cash free.

Local businesses can also take advantage of free social distancing stickers produced by Council. The stickers will assist customers to abide by social distancing rules.
