Due to the rapid growth of the Camden area, Council is changing its waste collection routes to better serve the community.

For some residents, it will mean a change in collection day for their weekly pick up from Friday 23 June 2023. Those who are impacted will receive a letter outlining the changes, as well as a reminder letter two weeks before the new collection routes start.

All residents can also look at our interactive online map to see if their collection day is changing at bit.ly/mycollectionday.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Ashleigh Cagney, said the changes were put in place following an extensive review of Council’s waste collection.

“We are one of the fastest growing areas in Australia, and so it’s important that we continuously look at how we are doing things and see where we can improve in the context of that growth,” she said.

“These changes help ensure an even spread of collections across the week and they account for the future growth precincts of areas like Bringelly and Leppington. That means they will allow us to better serve you, not only now, but also into the future.

“We know, for some, this will mean a change in their habitual weekly routine of taking the bins out, and we appreciate you working with us as we make these improvements for the entire Camden area.”
