Residents can now thank those who have shown their love and commitment to the to the Camden community by nominating them for a limited edition #camdenlove Collectable Bear.

Council has launched the #camdenlove Bears to celebrate the great people in the community who provide moments of generosity, inspiration, sustainability, love and bravery, particularly during difficult times such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Residents are encouraged to nominate someone who lives in the Camden Local Government Area who they think is worthy of this limited-edition collectable, with five types of available bears including:

  • Generosity Bear – for showing generosity to the Camden community;
  • Inspiration Bear – for inspiring those within your local community by your actions;
  • Love Bear – for showing your love of the Camden area or the Camden people;
  • Bravery Bear – for showing bravery during challenging times; and
  • Sustainability Bear – for showing care for the local natural environment.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the campaign was a great initiative to highlight and acknowledge the community’s acts of kindness.

“I am extremely proud to be living in a community that truly support each other in every way possible and this campaign gives us the chance to say thank you to those who made it that little bit better for them,” Cr Fedeli said.

“This year alone we have seen great acts of bravery and inspiration early in the year with the bushfires and flooding and great love and generosity through the pandemic.

“We have seen businesses give away free items, residents pay for others’ groceries and many use Council’s ‘Hey Neighbour!’ cards to offer a helping hand.

“It is now your chance to thank those in the community who helped and supported you through a tough year by nominating them for a limited edition #camdenlove bear.”

Nominations for the #camdenlove bears are now open and will be accepted while stocks last.
