Camden Council Library Services has announced an expanded home delivery service for vulnerable residents in the community as part of Council’s COVID-19 community support package.

The service is open to those aged over 60 and those who are medically vulnerable and would like to have library books delivered to their home.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli said it was important for local seniors to remain focused and stimulated through reading during the closure of libraries.

“Our home library service will provide a vital connection between local libraries and senior and vulnerable members of our community,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Reading can have great benefits including reducing stress, enhancing sleep to improve memory circuits and sharpen decision-making.

“Those interested in taking up the opportunity to have their favourite books delivered to them should contact Camden Council Library Services and the team will endeavour to deliver your items within five working days.”

Despite libraries being closed to the public across Australia during the COVID-19 pandemic, residents have been able to access Camden Council Library Services through their e-resources through its website.

The home delivery service can be accessed by contacting Narellan Library on 4645 5039 during business hours, Monday to Friday.
