Keep your ion the prize! It’s time to dispose of your chemicals with us at Council’s Household Chemical Cleanout as we continue to help the environment by disposing of waste in the best way.

The annual Camden Household Chemical CleanOut, to be held on Sunday 6 February from 9am-3.30pm for the first time at Narellan Sports Hub Hockey Fields, allows residents to drop their chemicals off to be disposed of safely.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it was important for residents to dispose of their household chemicals in the safest way possible.

“Disposing of chemicals can be difficult and dangerous, so we’re making it easier for residents who can drop off their household chemicals to us,” Cr Fedeli said.

“Many of us may have some old chemicals lying in our garages or sheds that could become potentially dangerous, so now is a great time to go through your items and bring them in to be disposed of in a safe manner.”

Items to be collected on the day include:

  • Solvents and household cleaners;
  • Floor care products;
  • Ammonia-based cleaners;
  • Pesticides and herbicides;
  • Poisons;
  • Pool chemicals;
  • Hobby chemicals;
  • Motor fuels;
  • Fluorescent globes and tubes;
  • Acids and alkalis;
  • Smoke detectors;
  • Paint and paint-related products;
  • Gas bottles;
  • Fire extinguishers;
  • Car and household batteries; and,
  • Motor oils and cooking oils.

Entry to Narellan Sports Hub for the Chemical CleanOut will be via Millwood Avenue, Narellan.

The Chemical CleanOut is a joint initiative between Camden Council and the NSW Environmental Protection Authority.
