Local students preparing for their Higher School Certificate are now able to receive extra support, with special online wellbeing sessions on offer.

The HSC Wellbeing Sessions, to be provided by Headspace Oran Park and Campbelltown, and Traxside Youth Health Services in conjunction with Camden Libraries will help ensure young people’s wellbeing is supported.

The HSC Wellbeing Sessions will be held online every Tuesday until 5 October, 5-6pm, online, and will include:

  • Tuesday 7 September – Connect – an online trivia session;
  • Tuesday 14 September – Helping Others – learn how to make stress balls in this workshop;
  • Tuesday 21 September – Keep Learning – learn how to use music to improve mental wellbeing;
  • Tuesday 28 September – Be Aware – a mindfulness session; and
  • Tuesday 5 October – Be Active – an online Bootcamp with The Y NSW.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it was important for students studying for their HSC, particularly during a world pandemic.

“Students working towards their higher school certificate have had it particularly tough this year with a number of changes due to the pandemic,” Cr Fedeli said.

“I imagine these sessions will be a welcome boost for their wellbeing and to help keep positivity and morale high.

“The wellbeing sessions will give a range of tips to students to remain calm and cool headed as they continue to study and work towards their future careers.

“I encourage our local students to register their interest and continue working hard towards their goals.”
