Camden Festival has been hailed a success, with almost 400,000 people tuning into the first online series of events to celebrate the Camden area.

The online program had hundreds of thousands of people watch, enter and participate in an exciting program including:

  • Favourite Picnic Spot Competition;
  • Flower Crown Virtual Workshop;
  • Superhero Dress Up Competition;
  • Clown Show;
  • Learn to Dance Class;
  • Camden Online Cook Off Competition;
  • Youth Movie Night;
  • Listen While You Wine and Dine;
  • Kids Cooking Classes; and
  • TASTE Camden Virtual Cooking Demonstration with Adam Liaw.

Residents were also given a list of 11 Fun Things for Kids to Do in Camden in a safe manner.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was fantastic to see a great online reaction to this year’s Camden Festival.

“Whilst we would have loved to all be out and about enjoying Camden Festival as we usually do, our first online Festival didn’t disappoint,” Cr Fedeli said.

“From celebrity chef Adam Liaw showing us how to cook three of his favourites to our superhero dress up competition, kids cooking demonstration and live music we had something for everyone which clearly was thoroughly enjoyed.

“I am proud to be in a community that never fails to come together, no matter what is happening in the world. We continue to do great things in Camden during this pandemic and I thank each of you for the part you have played in making Camden Festival Online a great success.

“I was also happy to be able to further promote Council’s #camdenbought initiative and showcase some local businesses during these difficult times.”
