Camden Libraries is putting together a series of HSC videos hosted by a number of experienced teachers, to help local students with their studies and preparation. The videos will be streamed on Camden Libraries' Facebook pages as per the below schedule:

  • Monday 2, Tuesday 3 and Wednesday 4 August – English;

  • Friday 6 August – Mathematics Advanced;
  • Monday 9 August – Business Studies 1;
  • Tuesday 10 August – Business Studies 2;
  • Wednesday 11 August – Legal Studies;
  • Thursday 12 August – Economics 1;
  • Friday 13 August – Economics 2; and
  • Monday 16 August – Physics.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Therese Fedeli, said it was important for students to get as much help as possible as they study for their HSC exams.

“We’re all riding this crazy rollercoaster that is COVID-19 and all the disruption it has brought to our lives,” Cr Fedeli said.

“I can only imagine how this feels for our students, who are already under enormous pressure to do their best for these big exams.

“That’s why I’m so proud of initiatives like this one. Council is here to support every member of our community, and our local HSC students are no different.

“These videos are fantastic. Camden Libraries has lined up an experienced list of teachers who, I believe, will really help those who tune in. I encourage everyone studying for their HSC, or maybe their parents or guardians if appropriate, to follow the Camden Council and Camden Libraries Facebook pages in the coming weeks."

HSIE coordinator and Business Studies teacher, William Bourke, will be hosting the videos on Business Studies 1 and 2 as well Economics 1 and 2.

“These videos are an excellent way to have critical content explained to students as they don't have face to face contact with teachers,” Mr Bourke said.

“It will help students work at their own pace, being able to pause the video and take notes.

“The videos will focus on exam technique and preparation and they will have tips and tricks in addressing questions, plus loads of sample answers.

“My key piece of advice to local students sitting for the HSC – stay focused and try to block out all distractions. Reach out to your teachers if you need help.”
