Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, is calling on the Camden community to rally together and donate to those in need, with the annual Mayoral Christmas Giving Appeal now open.

The Christmas Giving Appeal will this year support two local charities:

  • Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard; and
  • Turning Point, Camden.

Residents are encouraged to give in a COVID safe way and donate online to these two organisations.

“While the festive season is so merry for many families, it can also be quite difficult for those less fortunate,” Cr Fedeli said.

“It is important that we come together as a community once more this year and support those in need in our own community.

“Online donations will help these organisations support and provide clothing and goods with the hope of putting a smile on their faces this Christmas”.

“After the year we have all had to endure through, we all deserve to be smiling this Christmas so I encourage the community to dig deep and help where you can.”

Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard provide furniture and household goods to survivors of domestic violence and also work alongside the Macarthur Homelessness Steering Committee to assist people experiencing homelessness.

Turning Point, Camden work to support men, women and families who are facing insurmountable pressures. Their service delivery focuses on strength-based practices where people grow in confidence and self-esteem and can reach that turning point.
