More than 500 local students have been recognised for their outstanding 2020 High School Certificate (HSC) results recently.

The students will receive their special certificates from Council in the mail shortly.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said it was fantastic to see so many students receive a band five or six in one or more subjects in a difficult year.

“Last year was one of the most challenging in history and these students achieved remarkable results in such difficult circumstances,” Cr Fedeli said.

“It shows great discipline, dedication and commitment to finish your school years with outstanding results – all characteristics that will serve the students well for years to come in their lives.

“The students, along with their families, should be extremely proud of all their achievements and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavours.”

Council provides students with a number of resources to assist with their study including:

  • Study spaces at all three libraries;
  • Lectures and seminars;
  • Study guides;
  • Past papers and major work examples; and
  • Free tutoring sessions.

Students from schools across the Camden area were recognised for their achievements, including:

  • Mount Annan Christian College;
  • Camden High School;
  • Oran Park Anglican College;
  • Elizabeth Macarthur High School;
