Camden Council’s Draft 2017/18 - 2021/22 Revised Delivery Program and Draft 2021/22 Operational Plan (budget) are now on public exhibition, after they were endorsed at last week’s Ordinary Meeting.

The $344 million draft budget will see the delivery of Council’s Stage Three $113.9 million COVID-19 support package, for residents and local businesses adversely affected by the pandemic.

It will also see the delivery of a $180 million Capital Works Program, including the continuation of the $5.1 million Community Infrastructure Renewal Program (CIRP), as well as a budget surplus of almost $1.8 million reinvested into the community.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the draft Delivery Program and Operational Plan is exciting for the entire community.

“Council is committed to delivering the best it can in every capacity and the draft budget truly has something in it for everyone,” Cr Fedeli said.

“The special inclusion of Council’s Stage Three $113.9 million COVID-19 support package is estimated to raise Camden’s economic output by up to $195 million which also includes the creation of up to 437 new jobs in the Camden area.

“Another exciting and tangible element for our residents is the Capital Works Program which is set to see more than $180 million poured into road and transport infrastructure, parks and playgrounds, community facilities and much more.

“This will allow Council to continue delivering high quality infrastructure, services, projects and initiatives for both our current and future residents.

“I’m very proud to be leading Council in helping our community in such a way, and this draft budget will ensure we continue providing fantastic outcomes for our community.”

The draft Delivery Program, draft Operational Plan (budget) and draft 2021/22 Capital Works Program will be on public exhibition from Wednesday 21 April and will end on Tuesday 18 May 2021.
