Local events will soon benefit from improved electricity services, after Council was successful in receiving more than $20,000 in funding to upgrade electrical infrastructure at Camden Showground.

The Showground, which hosts a number of events including the annual Camden Show, will be upgraded under the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment’s Crown Lands Showground
Stimulus Funding Program, with Council providing in-kind contributions to the project.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli, said the improvements would be of great assistance for both the community and event organisers.

“Upgrades to Camden Showground will not only enhance community use and experience of the facility but also maximise opportunities for economic growth in and around it,” Cr Fedeli said.

“It will also provide a substantial saving to Council and other event organisers who have up until now had to hire generators for each event.

“I thank the NSW Government for their assistance and look forward to attending future events at the upgraded facility.”

Camden Showground is located on Argyle Street in Camden.
