Residents are encouraged to prepare and stay safe in a disaster or time of crisis by downloading and completing an emergency plan on the FREE Get Prepared app, as part of Emergency Preparedness Week.

Get Prepared is a free and easy to use, one-stop tool to help residents prepare for any type of emergency, including:

  • Establishing a quick and easy network of support with your three key contacts;
  • Reviewing the risks relevant to where you live;
  • Creating checklists of actions to make an emergency plan; and
  • Saving the emergency plan as a PDF to be printed and shared with others.

Mayor of Camden, Cr Theresa Fedeli said it was important to keep family safety front of mind and downloading the app was the first step.

“We can’t stop disasters or emergencies from happening, but you can reduce how much they affect us,” Cr Fedeli said.

“This year has been a stark reminder for all of us to be as prepared as possible for any emergency and the Get Prepared App is a fantastic way to start.

“I encourage residents to download the app. It takes as little as five minutes to get prepared and can bring big benefits to your family.”

Emergency Preparedness Week runs from Monday 31 August to Sunday 6 September.

Do one simple thing to make you safer in an emergency, download the Get Prepared App today in the Google Play Store or App Store.
