About the Project
On 28 July 2018, Council adopted the Kirkham Park Masterplan, which outlines the future for the site and location of sports facilities, parking and internal roads.
Part of Stage 1 of the Masterplan includes the construction of two new rugby league fields, one being an international size field and the other a modified league size for junior competition and training.
The construction of the fields will include:
- significant bulk earthworks;
- floodlighting of both fields to 100 lux training-standard
- irrigation and field drainage; and
- turfing, retaining walls, fencing and landscaping.

Timing
Works commenced in late May and are expected to be completed by late 2019, weather permitting.
Construction Impacts
A temporary construction fence will be erected around the site during the construction period, however pedestrian access to Kirkham Park will be maintained. Construction vehicles will be entering the site from Hilder Street, Elderslie.
The existing rugby league site will remain fully operational for the 2019 season.
