Expression of Interest


Faces of Camden is a curated street exhibition that invites community to create expressive self-portraits and portraits using their own unique artistic interpretation to capture the story of our diverse people.

Who may submit:

The exhibition is open to anyone of any age living, studying, or working within the Macarthur Region.     

Conditions of entry

  • Entry is free
  • A submission may include up to three works;
  • Participants may only submit once;
  • Submission will not guarantee exhibition of your work;
  • Entries by youth, aged 5-12years, must be authorised by a parent or guardian over 18 years of age;
  • Council may reproduce and modify artwork as Kerbside Exhibition panels images as required to fit size format;
  • Works selected for exhibition will be promoted within an online catalogue, and used in the development of marketing collateral both on-line and in print;
  • Artists grant permission for Council to acquire and reproduce the works for other Council purposes;
  • Incomplete EOI’s, or those without the prescribed file format will be ineligible; and
  • Selected artists will be notified by email prior to exhibition of works.

Submission Details

  • Original artwork may include illustration, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, or any other suitable medium.
  • Valid and selected artworks will be reproduced, printed, and displayed throughout various public spaces within the Town Centre of Camden as a curated exhibition
  • A triptych may be considered as a submission
  • Artwork must be the original work of the participant and provided in digital format
  • Each artwork submitted must not exceed 5MB
  • Artworks will be presented in the following size ratios as such works will be modified where required

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to pay to enter?

Entry is free to everyone that lives, works, or studies in the Macarthur Region. The exhibition is open to all age groups.

What is the benefit to me submitting?

The benefit to the artist is to increase your profile within the community and public domain. Exposure on social media and Council website.

Can I sell my work?

The ambition is for all works selected for exhibition to be displayed in an on-line catalogue, artists are invited to have their name and social media link should they wish to sell their work. 

Can I win a prize?

There will be an opportunity for three artists to win People’s Choice Awards through our on-line promotion.

Will there be other kerbside exhibitions at other times?

Camden Town Centre Kerbside exhibitions are programmed to occur four times over the coming twelve months.

Does the theme change every time?

Yes, new themes will be explored each time we curate an exhibition.

Will I see any adjustment to my work before it goes on exhibition?

An email of your final work will be provided only if the work is adjusted for scaling of size format.

How many works can I enter?

An artist may enter 3 works, if a triptych is entered the triptych will be considered as the 3 works. Artists may note that the work is a triptych when submitting.

What happens to my work when it is taken down?

Works to be collected on a date to be notified on completion of the project.

Will my submission be considered if it features adult only language, obscene or violent graphic content?

Council reserves the right to withdraw works not suitable for general audience viewing.

Will my work be exhibited?

The exhibition is curated based on exhibition eligibility and theme. Process is open to anyone who wishes to enter, all works will be considered for display within the specified format.

Will works be displayed in more than one location?

Selected works may be repeated to maximise exposure dependant on site availability and size of works.

How long will works be exhibited?

The exhibition will remain in place for up to four weeks.

Can my child enter?

The exhibition will feature works from artists of all ages, we encourage anyone wishing to submit a work for consideration.

File Format

Works must be provided as a high quality, 300dpi resolution jpeg image, and no more than 5MB. Note higher quality images will assist to retain the quality of your image when reproduced.

Works are to be photographed without frame. Where possible use a quality camera
