Children and Families
The Camden Local Government Area (LGA) has one of the highest proportions of children in NSW with 15,249 children aged between 0 and 11 years, representing 19.5% of the total Camden Local Government Area population (ABS, 2016).
Camden Council is committed to investing in children and families. We develop projects aimed at assisting children aged 0 -12 years and their parents/carers. We provide information about local children and family services across a variety of platforms including Camden Kids and provide a range of affordable child and family events and activities.
On 30 October 2018 Camden Council adopted the Camden Children and Families Strategy, which outlines its strategic framework to improve the childhood experience of every child living in the Camden Local Government Area. The strategy states a clear goal for Camden, that the “Camden Local Government Area is a place where all children receive a safe, healthy and happy start in life, are actively connected and have a voice in their community.”
