GRANT INFORMATION

Camden Council recognises that organisations and community groups delivering essential services to the Camden local community will be impacted during the COVID-19 pandemic and the number of residents accessing these services are likely to increase as a direct result.

The COVID-19 Community Response Grant (the Grant) addresses the challenges faced by community organisations and groups. The Grant will make funding available to incorporated associations and not-for-profit groups located in or servicing the Camden Local Government Area (LGA). The Grant is designed as a response to both alleviate the challenges faced by increasing numbers of residents accessing services and to support funding of projects that directly address these and other emerging challenges.

A total of up to $15,000 is available for each eligible application. Funds can be used for front line services who are struggling to keep up with demand and projects that directly support Camden residents impacted by COVID-19 Examples include food hampers, vouchers, projects that address social isolation etc.

Applications to this Grant are now closed.

The program guidelines ensure that monetary requests to Council are dealt with in a fair and equitable manner and are consistent with the principles of community wellbeing. The guidelines are and assessment criteria is available here:

Applications will be considered  by an allocation committee of Council Officers and recommendations will be considered and endorsed by Council.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

To be eligible for funding, an organisation must:

  • Be not-for-profit; or
  • Be a registered charity; or
  • Be an incorporated body or be auspiced by an incorporated body;
  • Offer a project within the Camden Local Government Area
  • 100% of participants must be from the Camden Local Government Area (excluding proposed digital/online projects that will benefit and by their nature are accessible by, both the Camden and wider community)
  • Have Public Liability Insurance of over $20,000,000 or be auspiced by an organisation who have Public Liability Insurance.
  • Auspicing organisations must also be an incorporated association, not-for-profit or community group.

The following criteria will form the basis of assessment:

 

  • Address local issues by meeting identified community need as a response to the current COVID -19 pandemic as well as project/program outcomes; and
  • Show the contribution of the organisation towards  the project or program whether by monetary, in-kind or volunteer support; and
  • Show how the funds will be used to address this identified need.

This funding is only available as a one-off to each applicant. Applications for recurrent funding will not be considered.
