Traffic and TransportAll of us need to get around in one form or another and our local businesses need good access for their customers and suppliers. Our public places, streets and paths are also places where we meet together as a community and enjoy recreational activities. Council manages the transport network with our partners to help people go about their daily lives safely and healthily by: • Maintaining and upgrading public roads, paths and stormwater infrastructure; Street LightingThe maintenance of street lighting in Camden is contracted to Endevour Energy who you should contact to report street lighting out. New South Wales GovernmentMany aspects of traffic and transport are direct responsibilities of State Government including railways, public transport contracts, licensing, rules and regulations, major roads and speed zoning and traffic lights. For road-related enquiries you may wish to contact the Roads and Maritime Services directly. Springs Road ClosureSprings Road, Spring Farm, has been closed so that construction of a new road and bridge over Springs Creek can be constructed. Springs road will be lowered by up to 8 metres in places in order to align with the new residential areas being developed adjacent to the road. This lowering requires substantial excavation of materials in order to form the new road alignment, and requires the road to be closed due to the extent of the lowering work. The project is currently estimated to be completed by December 2011. For futher information, please see our Fact Sheet |
