Their community spirit has created one of the largest emergency services in the world. Their dedication to fire prevention, suppression, training and community education has created one the most professional volunteer agencies in the world. Men and women of all ages and backgrounds volunteer with the RFS and work hard to save lives, property and the environment. Active firefighting is not the only job done by RFS volunteers. They fulfil important roles in other areas such as catering, logistics, communications and administration. New members are welcome. Camden is situated 50km Southwest of Sydney, NSW and is part of the NSW Rural Fire Service's Macarthur Zone which includes Camden, Campbelltown and Liverpool Local Government Areas (LGA). Camden has over 130 volunteers in 7 brigades and attend over 400 incidents annually. Camden's fleet contains 19 vehicles of various categories including an urban interface pumper, rural fire tankers, catering vehicle and support vehicles.
