They can be released into the air when asbestos products are incorrectly handled, stored or transported for disposal. It is important to ensure that asbestos waste has been wetted and sealed in heavy-duty plastic prior to transportation to a lawful waste facility such as a licensed landfill. The service is run once or twice annually and is a chance for local residents to dispose of household chemicals in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Syringe DisposalCamden Council is committed to providing a safe community for our residents, and a safe work environment for our staff. Used syringes (‘sharps’) can be disposed of safely at the following chemists in the Camden local government area: Camden Pharmacy Sinclairs Day & Night Priceline Narellan Chemist (Amcal) Health & Savings Pharmacy Pharmacy Express Mt Annan For the safe transportation of sharps to these chemists syringes should be placed sharp end down into a sealed sharps container or a strong plastic container with a lid, closed tightly. If you see a syringe in public area please contact Council on 4654 7777 so that it can be removed. NB: Never touch a used syringe. |
