Council Meetings InformationCamden Council meets regularly to discuss local issues and make decisions on behalf of the community. Decisions must be made at an open meeting by the whole Council. All meetings of Council are open to the public and residents are welcome to attend. The Mayor leads the Council Meeting and follows the procedures of how these meetings should be run. The General Manager and senior staff are also present to give explanations or information to Council. Other Council staff may also attend Council Meetings to answer questions and explain reports. At its meeting on Monday 13 August, Council resolved to move Council meetings from Monday evenings to Tuesday evenings. As such, commencing with the meeting of 11 September 2007, Ordinary Council Meetings will be generally held the second and fourth TUESDAY of every month at 6pm. The venue will remain at Camden Civic Centre, Oxley Street, Camden (opposite Woolworths). Join us in the Gallery at the next Council Meeting. A copy of the 2008 Ordinary Council Meeting schedule is provided in the link below. Should you need to verify specific dates, please ring Council's Administration Section on (02) 4645 5126. Inspections will be held when required and meeting times are subject to changes.
At its meeting of 23 April 2007, Council adopted amendments to its Public Address and Public Question Time Policy. The Public Question Time segment has now been incorporated within the Public Address segment. Members of the public will still have sufficient time to address Council regarding any item on the Business Paper agenda or any item which falls within Council jurisdiction; however the policy amendments require that bookings are essential for all matters. Bookings can be made with Council's Administration Section on (02) 4645 5126 by 4pm on the day of the meeting. A copy of the policy is provided in the link below "Public Addresses & Public Question Time at Council Meetings" Policy
Business Paper agenda items for each Ordinary Council meeting are posted on Council's website by noon the Friday before each meeting. Follow the link below to the Business Paper agenda. Attachments to agenda items are also provided where possible. Business Paper documents can also be viewed at Camden and Narellan Council Offices, as well as Camden and Narellan Library branches.
