Commercial Waste Collection

About the Service

If you operate a business or own a commercial property, Camden Council is able to offer you a garbage and/or recycling service.

To meet the needs of local business, the following materials can be collected

  • General garbage
  • Commingled recyclables (e.g. glass, plastics, paper & carboard)

To cater to a wide range of needs, a number of bin sizes are available – 240L, 360L, 660L & 1100L.

Garbage Service

Bins used for general garbage waste are available in 240L, 360L, 660L or 1100L sizes. Please note there are a number of restrictions as to what can be put into the bin.

  • No hazardous materials (batteries, fuel/gas containers and cylinders, asbestos)
  • No liquids (wastewater, oil, paint, cleaners, acids, chemicals)

Recycling Service

Council can also collect paper, cardboard, glass and plastics materials. By separating your recyclables from general garbage waste, you will not only save money, but also help the environment.

Due to the weight of some recyclable materials, Camden Council can only collect a 240L recyclable bin. Remember to clean bottles and containers with recycling symbol 1, 2, and/or 5. Additionally, unbroken glass bottles and jars, steel and aluminium cans and empty aerosol cans can be placed into the recycling bin.

  • No paint tins
  • No oil containers
  • No ceramics or pyrex
  • No waxed cardboard boxes
  • No soiled, greaseproof paper, tissues
  • No shredded paper
