
2008 Council ElectionsThe 2008 Council Elections will be held on Saturday 13 September, 2008 to elect nine (9) Councillors in three (3) wards covering the Camden Local Government Area. Voting is compulsory for all residents. The election timetable, setting out the key dates running up to the election, is provided here. Returning Officer Details The Council election is conducted by the NSW Electoral Commission, who has appointed a full time Returning Officer. The Returning Officer, Mr Paul Sweeney, has commenced duties and is contactable on 0447 625 027. His office is located in 'The Undercroft', Camden Civic Centre, Oxley Street, Camden and he is available during normal business hours. He has the full responsibility for all election matters. Council staff have no direct involvement in the election process. The Returning Officer should be contacted for any details concerning the Camden Local Government Election. Candidates Should members of the public wish to view a list of candidates for the Camden Local Government Area, details can be found at the following website http://election.nsw.gov.au/ElectionWebService/indexPage.html. Candidates are directed to contact either The Returning Officer, Mr Paul Sweeney on the details provided above, or access the NSW Electoral Commission website http://www.elections.nsw.gov.au for any information.
