Camden Council offers an efficient and effective waste management service, providing our residents with the uniqueness of a weekly three bin collection system. This ensures that the amount of recyclable or reusable material going into landfill is decreased. Camden Council’s waste management team also strives to offer fast and friendly customer service to residents with any and all waste-related questions.

Waste is an increasing problem locally, nationally and internationally. Camden Council works closely with neighbouring councils Campbelltown City Council and Wollondilly Shire Council to form the Macarthur Regional Organisation of Councils (MACROC).

A regional waste strategy has been designed to implement a Waste Management Plan to establish best practice methods of waste management. This includes the development of waste reduction targets, identification of recycling opportunities, increasing community input to assist in the implementation of waste reduction, educational programs for schools and developing opportunities for regional collaboration in managing waste issues.

Camden Council is also committed to the waste hierarchy established under the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2001 and the NSW Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery (WARR) Strategy.
